B-1B returning from Ample Strike mission 09.09.16

Rockwell B-1B Lancer (86-0127) returning to RAF Fairford on the 9th September 2016 under the call sign CROOK01.

This aircraft is from the 28th BS, part of the 7th OG Global Strike Command and was taking part in Ample Strike ’16 in the Czech Republic.

There was a fairly strong crosswind on this day, which caused the jets (and my camera) to be buffeted around a fair amount.

Lovely to see these impressive jets in the UK skies again, and hopefully they’ll become a more familiar sight in the coming years.

RAF Fairford Atlas Air 747-400 arrival for Sabre Strike 2016

An Atlas Air 747-400 arrives and does a little runway dusting on is way in. This flight was delivering personnel for Sabre Strike 2016 and arrived on 30th May 2016.

Special thanks go to the casual day tripper and her companion who decided to walk in front of me and film the jet on their smart phone. I’m sure they’ll delete their footage as soon as they need more storage space!

Lovely to meet a few people out and about today, and thanks to all the community for the streams of information. Top stuff!

Apologies for the wind noise, I had a few issues with my windshield today, which are now fixed.
