An Atlas Air 747-400 arrives and does a little runway dusting on is way in. This flight was delivering personnel for Sabre Strike 2016 and arrived on 30th May 2016.
Special thanks go to the casual day tripper and her companion who decided to walk in front of me and film the jet on their smart phone. I’m sure they’ll delete their footage as soon as they need more storage space!
A single Lockheed U-2 arrives at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire.
An awesome sight and sound in the Gloucestershire countryside. Watch the chase car speed down the runway to talk this notoriously difficult jet down to land.
Shot with a Canon XA-20 just after a very heavy, but thankfully brief, squally rain shower.
On the return from operations over the Baltic, ICER11 and ICER12 make a return from their first Sabre Strike mission of 2015.
These two examples were from Minot AFB in North Dakota 60-047 and 60-018.
Two B-2 Spirit Stealth Bombers arrive at RAF Fairford (UK) for a hot pit turn around back to the USA. A stunning sight in the low evening sunlight in rural Gloucestershire.
These two aircraft had callsigns PANTS11 and PANTS12.
Lovely to meet a few people out and about today, and thanks to all the community for the streams of information. Top stuff!
Two B-2 Spirit Stealth Bombers arrive at RAF Fairford under the call signs DEATH11 & DEATH12.
The 1st aircraft ‘Spirit Of Indiana’ DEATH11 performed two low approaches before landing on runway 27. ‘Spirit of Louisiana’, DEATH12 was straight into land.
Apologies for the wind noise, I had a few issues with my windshield today, which are now fixed.
Shot with a Canon XA20, edited in FCPX.
In order of appearance:
Day one of our two day visit to RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, UK.
Shot with a Sony HD SR11E edited in Final Cut X
A older movie from the archive.
This footage is sitting inside one of my earlier RIAT videos but I thought it was time to bring it out from hiding!
Shot on July 7th 2012 on a Sony HDR-SR11E.
An old video I shot back in 2o10. In this video you can see that No.1 engine is feathered, presumably to simulate an engine out landing.
