An RC-135V Rivet Joint (64-14844) departs RAF Mildenhall under the call sign TOKEN 42.
Thanks to BOLLO on FC for reminding me of the callsign! http://www.fightercontrol.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=163234
A P-8 Poseidon (168493) arrives and makes a quick stop for fuel at RAF Mildenhall under the call sign PS091.
Apologies for the wind noise at the end!
Always nice to shoot a 747 with its busy main gear retraction method. This particular jet looks fairly tired out but is in fact only 12 years old. Perhaps a new paint job is in order?
A KC-10A Extender arrives into RAF Mildenhall under the call sign Reach 113H.
After landing the crew had to wait on the runway for a few minutes while the still smoking hot brakes cooled. You can still see the brakes smoking at 2:12 as the jet turns in to taxiway delta.
A CV-22 (08-0050) from the 7th SOG, under the callsign Knife 79, performs a hover check and departs RAF MIldenhall on a calm summer’s morning.
I wanted to get that gear retraction shot and I pretty much cracked it this time from John’s Field.
A CV-22 (08-0050) from the 7th SOG, under the callsign Knife 79, performs a hover check and departs RAF MIldenhall on this lovely early summer’s evening.
Sorry for the fence being in the way but didn’t make it to the viewing platform in John’s Field in time. I did get that gear retraction shot which is what I was after though 🙂
It was an especially misty day on May 30th in the loop, but this C-130 Hercules from RAF Brize Norton made it around the loop twice this day.
It’s always a pleasure to see such a large aircraft at low level.
I was lucky enough to spend the day with the 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath back in April 2016. It was a huge privilege to get up close and personal with these front line aircraft and their crew.
Thanks so much to those that made it happen. It will be a day that I’ll remember for a long long time!

A single pass from this mighty Airbus A-400 around Corris corner in the Mach Loop on 5th April 2018. This was shot on my first trip to the loop this year, and it was great to be back!
