x2 B-2A (MYTEE51 & 52) recover into RAF Fairford 9th July 2017

It was a busy day for bombers on June 9th at RAF Fairford, and was the first time I’d seen (and filmed) all three of Global Strike Command’s heavy bombers on the same day.

These two aircraft were flown from Whiteman AFB, Missouri, visited a bombing range in the UK before recovering into Fairford. These aircraft were 82-1068 Spirit Of New York (MYTEE51) and 88-0329 Spirit Of Missouri (MYTEE52).

The famed B-2 Spirit ‘Stealth Bomber’ entered service in 1997 and they still look absolutely cutting edge to my eyes, despite the fact that they celebrate 20 years in service this year. Happy birthday B-2.

RIAT 2016 Arrivals Day 1 – USMC F-35B Lighting II Stealth Fighter practice display

RIAT 2016 saw the debut of the F-35B demo in the UK, and the US Marine Corp jet did his practice first on the Wednesday before the show. We had both A and B models into Fairford for the 2016 show, and types from the USAF, RAF and Marine Corps – quite a selection.

This demo was very tame compared to where we’re at with recent F-35 flying demos, but it was still awesome to see (and hear) these jets in action for the first time. Check out the haunting engine sounds when the jet is in the hover and the dust and debris this jet kicks up at 5:59.

These two aircraft had callsigns PANTS11 and PANTS12.

Lovely to meet a few people out and about today, and thanks to all the community for the streams of information. Top stuff!

Two B-2 Spirit Stealth Bombers arrive at RAF Fairford

Two B-2 Spirit Stealth Bombers arrive at RAF Fairford under the call signs DEATH11 & DEATH12.

The 1st aircraft ‘Spirit Of Indiana’ DEATH11 performed two low approaches before landing on runway 27. ‘Spirit of Louisiana’, DEATH12 was straight into land.

Apologies for the wind noise, I had a few issues with my windshield today, which are now fixed.

Shot with a Canon XA20, edited in FCPX.
