B-2 Spirit Stealth Bombers land at RAF Fairford – August 2019

Two B-2A Spirit Stealth Bombers recover back to RAF Fairford in stunning light during their Bomber Task Force Europe deployment on 29th August 2019 under the call sign MYTEE11 and 12.

The first part of the video captures an engine test on the ramp at RAF Fairford, and we were lucky enough to get both of these jets returning at the same time and go into the overhead for a break to land. At the end of the video both jets opened up their bomb bay doors, and I managed to catch this at 9:06.

It’s awesome to see these iconic jets in person and such a privilege to have them back in the UK again. On this day they hooked up with RAF F-35s from Marham for integration training and a photoshoot over the south coast.

On this shoot I was particulate after the gear cycling and I wanted to get the auxiliary inlet doors closing on top of the engines. I missing much of the gear cycling but I did manage to get the secondary intakes closing up!

x2 iconic B-2 Stealth Bombers night time arrival into RAF Fairford – 27/08/19

Just before 1am local time, two B-2A Stealth Bombers arrived into RAF Fairford under the call signs DEATH11 (Spirit of New York) and 12 (Spirit of Georgia) from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. These jets of course being from the 509th Bomb Wing.

DEATH13 (Spirit of Mississippi) arrived around 20 minutes later but I missed shooting it as all my gear was packed away!

This was pretty much as close to seeing a UFO as it gets I think!

x2 B-2A (MYTEE51 & 52) recover into RAF Fairford 9th July 2017

It was a busy day for bombers on June 9th at RAF Fairford, and was the first time I’d seen (and filmed) all three of Global Strike Command’s heavy bombers on the same day.

These two aircraft were flown from Whiteman AFB, Missouri, visited a bombing range in the UK before recovering into Fairford. These aircraft were 82-1068 Spirit Of New York (MYTEE51) and 88-0329 Spirit Of Missouri (MYTEE52).

The famed B-2 Spirit ‘Stealth Bomber’ entered service in 1997 and they still look absolutely cutting edge to my eyes, despite the fact that they celebrate 20 years in service this year. Happy birthday B-2.
