I thought I’d upload something a bit special on Christmas day. Especially as my channel is at 9,991 subscribers and about to pass the 10,000 mark!

I didn’t realise it at the time but these were the last RAF GR4s that I’d shoot low level. These were shot in the Mach Loop, mid Wales, 31st July 2018.

Low level Tornado GR4 – two passes shot from Cad East in the Mach Loop

A Tornado GR4 makes two passes through the Cad pass in the now famous Mach Loop.

This was one of the last times I’d shoot a low level Tornado before they retired the type in 2019.

RIAT 2017 RAF fast jet arrivals

Again, in order of arrival here are some of the the RAF fast jet contingents arriving into RIAT 2017. This video was shot later on in the afternoon of Thursday 13th July 2017.

x2 Eurofighter Typhoon

Tornado ECR close call on landing – RIAT 2017 arrivals

This German Air Force Tornado ECR from TG-51 (Taktisches Luftwaffengeschwader 51) Tigers encountered a huge flock of birds right on the approach at the eastern end of RAF Fairford’s runway.

The birds took of a few minutes earlier and caught a thermal that took them right into the flightpath of the oncoming aircraft. Thankfully the pilot saw them in time and was able to climb out over them and return a few minutes later to make a safe landing.

RAF Typhoons and Tornado arrive into RAF Fairford for RIAT 2016

Day 2 of RIAT 2016 and the RAF fast jet contingent arrived en masse. Three Typhoons and a single Tornado GR4.

The special scheme Typhoon (ZK315) is the 41(R) Test and Evaluation Squadron centenary jet.

We were treated to a 6 passes by these Tornado GR4s from RAF Marham on April 21st. Quite rare to see three together in a low level sortie, it was difficult to know which one to pan with!

The ‘Desert Pink’ (XV(R) Squadron) Tornado from RAF Lossiemouth made a trip through the Mach Loop on the 5th January. This special paint scheme is to commemorate 25yrs of Operation Granby during the gulf conflict.
