A pair of 1st Squadron F-16s from the Belgian Air Force paid us a visit at Lake Vyrnwy near the Mach Loop on their way to RIAT 2017. Great to see these guys down at low level.
Continuing the thread of RIAT 2016 and the first day of arrivals, here are the Textron Airland Scorpion and Polish F-16s arriving for the International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford.
Like a few other operators of the F-16, the Polish Air Force opted to equip there jets with the humpback conformal fuel tanks, giving the F-16 nearly 44% more fuel and obvious range improvements. It doesn’t do much for the lines of the jet for me though!
You’ve got to love the nozzle actuator noise on the F-16 as well. The exhaust nozzle control mechanism on the F100 is powered by bleed air from the engine and creates that distinctive F100 nozzle noise. You’ll hear the same sound on my F-15 videos as well.

The Greek F-16C practice on Thursday 16th July at RIAT 2015.
This jet might look a little odd to some due to the conformal fuel tanks on the top of the fuselage. These tanks make the jet look a little fatter than a standard F-16C.
